Rammstein's music video of Du Hast, dubbed over with the English version of the song. Rammstein HAS made a German and English version of this song, yet it isn't an exact translation. They translated it so it will sound better in English. Also, to stop the argument on the comments of this video, Du Hast means You Have and Du Hasst measn You Hate. As stated before, they translated it to You Hate to make it sound better. Lyrics: You You hate You hate me You hate me to say You hate me to say And I did not obey Will you until death does sever Be upright to her forever Never Will you 'til death be her rider Her lover too, to stay inside her Never

Dec 1, 2008 - In German language the sentence "Du hast mich..." can still be completed with an verb and it does not sound wrong or anything! wheras in English you cannot finish a sentence like "you have...me" to "you have...me asked" just because it sounds like grammatical bullshit...

Dec 1, 2008 - The problem with the English version then was to not build a sentence that doesn´t make sense or doesn´t sound English like "you have...me" (what have you done???), so they decided to translate it as "you hate me" and go on with "you hate me to say" which is not the literal translation of the German version. Hope this finally helps out.

Dec 1, 2008 - its a word play in German, it dosent translate into English. The idea is that it is to sound like "you hate me" and then suddenly switches. The English version is a poor literal translation and is effectively a different song. The German one is about a woman proposing to him and he says no. It is left up to the listener if she hates him or not.

Dec 1, 2008 - The translation for "Du hast mich gefragt und ich habe nicht gesagt" is "you have asked me and I have said nothing." Both versions are good but I like the German one better.
