Perfect just doesn't exist, and people like that are incapable of loving themselves, so how can they love others? And expecting your kids to live out your own childhood dreams even if they don't want to is very deluded and harmful. It makes me think of stage parents who want excellence no matter what but their kids suffer because of it.
