Robert Kennedy talks about the cover up regarding vaccines and Autism. In June 2000, a group of top government scientists and health officials gathered for a meeting at the isolated Simpsonwood conference center in Norcross, Georgia. Convened by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the meeting was held at this Methodist retreat center, nestled in wooded farmland next to the Chattahoochee River, to ensure complete secrecy. The agency had issued no public announcement of the session -- only private invitations to fifty-two attendees. There were high-level officials from the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration, the top vaccine specialist from the World Health Organization in Geneva and representatives of every major vaccine manufacturer, including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Wyeth and Aventis Pasteur. All of the scientific data under discussion, CDC officials repeatedly reminded the participants, was strictly "embargoed." There would be no making photocopies of documents, no taking papers with them when they left. The federal officials and industry representatives had assembled to discuss a disturbing new study that raised alarming questions about the safety of a host of common childhood vaccines administered to infants and young children. According to a CDC epidemiologist named Tom Verstraeten, who had analyzed the agency's massive database containing the medical records of 100,000 children, a mercury-based preservative in the vaccines -- thimerosal -- appeared to be responsible for a dramatic increase in autism and a host of other neurological disorders among children. "I was actually stunned by what I saw," Verstraeten told those assembled at Simpsonwood, citing the staggering number of earlier studies that indicate a link between thimerosal and speech delays, attention-deficit disorder, hyperactivity and autism. Since 1991, when the CDC and the FDA had recommended that three additional vaccines laced with the preservative be given to extremely young infants -- in one case, within hours of birth -- the estimated number of cases of autism had increased fifteenfold, from one in every 2,500 children to one in 166 children. Nov 16, 2008 - I know why they get it....... play outside and it will go away. We never had this issue when I grew up in 60's and 70's - Kids played outside instead of sitting in front of a video game or computer. Autism comes from being Lethargic .

Nov 22, 2008 - These guys speak the truth. My son did get his immunizations, but at least I had them delayed and split up the MMR shots. If I could do it again, I would declare religious exemption (you can pull the form off the internet). People ARE sheeps and unaware... I'm glad I delayed my sons vaccines, but if I could do it again, I would not have him immunized at all. I felt pressure from pediatrician, etc.

Nov 22, 2008 - I love that. I love it, sadly some of the stimms with autism can be awful. My son tried to poke his own eyes out. SO in certain cases there ARE things wrong, but not wrong within WHO the child is. :)

Nov 22, 2008 - My son got 9 shots at once. They tricked me, loaded 2 and 3 in syringes. 2 of the shots were outdated, contained thimerosal. I asked for the vials and the lot numbers. Within 15 minutes my son was in a coma being flown to childrens hospital. 4 days later, he woke up with what they thought was SEVERE MENTAL RETARDATION. Now, they say he's autistic, and they say his brain is fine, he has no MR. WE have had 4 offers to settle with our lawsuit. So far, NOT ENOUGH!! VACCINES=AUTISM

Nov 27, 2008 - To be fair, we've also gotten better at identifying autism. In addition, people are now waiting to have children, and autism rates increase exponentially the older the parents are when conceiving. Bottom line: Thimerosal was removed from vaccines, and the autism rates didn't change. Autism is often diagnosed soon after the age when we get vaccinated. That's just a common coincidence.

If you do some reading you'll realize that our vaccines still contain mercury and aluminum, although in lower amounts. And the 'dosing' schedule is still higher than in the past. Read 'The Vaccine Book' by Dr. Sears.

Nov 30, 2008 - There are ALOT of studies, and of course many books / sites. But whether they are peer reviewed I can't say. That's the problem... if a study is not supported by main stream medicine, any review will conclude it to be "inconclusive". But I'm not a scientist... I just believe in asking questions and doing your own research before making decisions with "potential" negative health consequences.

Nov 30, 2008 - You could be right - vaccines may be totally safe... but even their own "inserts" list side effects including: seizures, fever, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, and in rare cases Guilliame Barre syndrome & encephalitis. The debate is still going as to whether they cause SIDS or autism... but I certainly wish more studies were done. They likely won't, b/c would need large group of unvaccinated kids to compare with. Regardless, why won't they just remove aluminum and mercury completely to be safe?

Nov 30, 2008 - I stand corrected... upon further investigation, they could have done the peer reviewed studies using the huge population of unvaccinated Amish kids, but it's never been done. Their incidence of disease is very, very low, and I suppose that wouldn't work in favor of what the pharm/medical institutions want to illustrate. Regardless, those who disagree will always discard info that is contrary to the mainstream and look for info to support them... and vice versa.

Dec 3, 2008 - 1. I've done my own research, using peer-reviewed studies. 2. Thymerosal was taken out of a lot of vaccines given to babies. This has been established, and is well documented. Also, try reading up on the difference between methyl mercury and ethyl mercury. 3. Read up on how peer-review works. Don't blow it off as "mainstream" science. It's duplicated and verified science.
