Prey is such a bad game.. Even if there is a native engine being made for the linux platform, I would bet its in the interest of making some profit that wasn't realized on the Windows platform.. Linux users have enough choices already to not choose this game, and if you want a native game, get Quake Wars Enemy Territory, it is certainly a helluvalot more satisfying than this.. Now if they lowered the price to 10 dollars or maybe 5 dollars.. Maybe they should pay people to setup servers and make mods for it, I don't know what would be a win for them.. My suggestion in this review (which desperately wanted to be 5 minutes but ended up being 43 minutes) is that the guys looking to make money on Linux with the Prey game.. Good luck.. Now, think about this, make prey the beginnings of a new gaming platform centered around linux, design the tools for this gaming platform, open source the tools, sell libraries of art, sell the game with the code with a CD in a thin book, say 100 pages, with enough examples of how to make mods and how to modify the code, how to setup a game development platform on linux, etc.. And Put it all on Ubuntu 8.04 so at least you have a platform that will be standard for 4 years, as Mark Shuttleworth is footing the bill.. And then maybe you will win some funding from investors and become serious competition for Electronic Arts.. Oh and get your biz heads together, say "we love you guys, but this is the future.. Lets take this bis for dummies, oh I mean the harvard business review best practices learned in 200x and throw it out the window.. This is what the biz-big-boys want you to think.. The reality is innovation on a new and flexible platform.. See we have the game, we have the engine, what the hell else do we need? This could be a new gaming platform.. Move out of the way PS3, Xbox 360.. Let's talk devoted servers, persistent reality, one-time buy-in ala-guild wars, let's talk free tools for creative people to mod our games, make us content, make competition, new market, lots of friends, more opportunites, and f*ck Microsoft and Electronic Arts, and any closed mind 500lb gorilla entered here _____________.. Anyhow, that's the better time spent, but my review in more entertaining, some of the time, but rather boring I admit.. I tried 3 times to make it better.. This is it..
